is there much of a difference between a SPARK roller and a Pearson mine roller. i would like to build a Stryker with a roller and slat and blast shields with overhead cover. Trumpy's ESV has a pearson roller thought this might do.

Several joint tests utilizing the RG-31 Medium Mine Protected Vehicle (MMPV) have been performed to observe vehicle capabilities with bar armor and a remote weapons system. Testing of the Self Protection Adaptive Roller Kit (SPARK) mine roller, consisting of a Pearson mine roller fitted to tactical vehicles to counter explosive threats, addressed the effectiveness of the SPARK on several vehicles. SPARK testing has been earmarked for numerous vehicle platforms.

So, yes the Trumpeter kit is a good base for what you are wanting to do. The slat armor will have to be modified to fit an ESV. Are you planning on this vehicle being from a certain war? Slat armor is not present on Strykers in Astan. From what I understand the aforementioned article to say, a vehicle in Iraq would be more likely to have the Pearson mine roller. In Afghanistan, a SPARK mine roller would be more likely.

Just a side note : the SPARK is a commercial-off-the-shelf item built by Pearson Engineering Limited. The U.S. military bought the items and developed vehicle interfaces that allow the SPARK to be fitted to an array of military tactical vehicles. So both the SPARK and the LWMR are Pearson mine rollers
