Hi
I want to make a Merkava tank and also a IDF M-60, I'm thinking of buying the Academy models but I wanted to know if anybody recommends a different company?
Thanks for the help.

Hi Joey,
I'm in the process of building every variant of the M48/60 used by the IDF, the MaGach in hebrew. while the Esci/itaaeirti kit is ok you get much better bang for the buck with the academy kits. IDf parts on the Esci/italeiri are hardly accurate and need alot of work. You can dind everything you need on the IDF Magach on its refeerence page on my site . there is also an article on building a 6B Gal version on my site. If you want more info let me know once you figured out what era you want to build.
As for the merkava 1, the Tamiya kit is fine out of the box and has a new Eduard set for it. for the Merkava Mk2 only the academy kits exist and they are fairly nice out of the box. again check the reference page on the Merkava at my site for all the available post market Items available. The Mk3 is the hardest kit to realy get right if you want to build more than the earliest or latest versions. there are anumber of post market turrets out there trying to correct the most glaring erroros. so Far connections turret seeems best to me.

I have the Academy Merkava III, still in the box for one of these years. All the parts look pretty nice as far as details go. Only thing is what Joshua mentioned about the turret.
Josh, thanks for the tip on the turret. Who is Connections? The name does not ring a bell at the moment.

Joey I would reccomend getting it with mine roller. you get some extra goodies in the box. Also gives you the option of mounting just the attachment plate with out the actual rollers or with the rollers. I must say having bought about three of each I would go sith the roller.
