A white wash product?

Most folks use their favorite white paint.

Sorry for sounding so dumb.
What I meant to say was, I have used tamiya acrylic JA Army green for the base colour on a KV1 of mine and I would like to know what shade of white would do the green justice, I must point out I am a newbie.
Thank you.

The Russians used a chalk based white, so something slightly off white would work

Yes, some dull White with a drop of gray. White wash can't have look clean. Anyway if you're going to make some dark oil washes, you could even use it straight from the jar

Cheers

Since you used Tamiya for the green, I'll assume you're comfortable with Tamiya paints. I recently used their flat white for a white scheme. I think mixed up some off-white tones to give it some variation.

I've airbrushed Vallejo white, but I've also used white craft paint (Plaid, Apple Barrel, Ceramcoat - 2 oz. for 99¢) slopped on with a short brush to very effectively simulate a crew applied whitewash.

I'm in this camp also. Realism in scale from mechanicals to finish and weathering makes the subject build 'pop' at the viewer.

Something along the lines of what Matthew mentioned is Windsor and Newton Water Colour paints. The white can be used to simulate a field applied white wash. Unfortunately they run about $7.00 a tube but the quality is very good.
