OK...so I went out and bought the Custom Dio .50 cal kit. And gosh, oh gee golly are there a LOT of parts. At least it seems that way to me, but this will be my first PE/Resin kit, so I don't have a lot to compare it to.
Has anyone else built this kit? What is your opinion of the kit? Are there any pitfalls, tips, etc that I should be aware of?
Thanks.

I take it that this is 35th scale. Personally, I can't see spending $7-14 for a machine gun kit to put on another kit. I've got a bunch of really nice 50 cals that have come off kits that I didn't use. If a kit comes with a crude looking one, I just replace it. Several PE detail sets I've purchased come with parts to replace the 50, but hey that's a lot of work that I personally think ain't worth the effort. But man hey not trying for a put down. I like to replace fenders so I can bend them up

heheheh...I appreciate the remarks! It was birthday money from my Mom-in-law! And, well, I have seen some aftermarket weapon sets and always thought they were VERY cool.

Jas - I bought the set but haven't used it...
I think it was a bit overly complicated for what I wanted it to do & I had some warpage issues that turned me off. Skybow's & AFV Club's .50cal then drifted into view, and I went after them...

I won a set of the Custom Dioramics .50 cals at a model contest raffle. Like Blaster, I'd probably never have bought them because there are so many other styrene options that are pretty doggone good with a bit of TLC.
Anyway, have 'em, never built 'em, but I do take them out and look at them every once and a while.
One nice thing I see are the PE receiver covers, which can be modeled open or closed. They might be nice in a dio with some GI trying to load or clear a jam.
The PE ammo cans also look pretty cool, as well as the PE gun cradle. The PE ammo is worthless, IMHO -- too FLAT. I'll have to replace those ammo belts if I ever build these thngs.
