Hello to all those people who like things a little different,
I got stuck with my StuG build on the Sturmgeschütz Brigade build because of some missing materials . But insted of sitting around and doing nothing I started to read one of my books on Tuesday evening and found something I thought could be a quick space filler. Well this is how far I am with the
JPz38(d) up to now:
First cuts-
Getting the lower hull together-
Frontal armor-
Font armor with Saukopfblende stollen from the Academy kit-
Side armor cut-
Side armor in place-
Roof and rear armor plate in place-
Front view-
Side view- Cupola from the spares box, sight cover from Academy Hetzer-
Engine deck, I´ve changed this a little from the plans I have. Etch is from Trumpeters E 100 Jagdpanzer, exhaust from
Academy-
I tried some new weld seams on this, for me anyway. It´s putty mixed with glue added through a syringe-
For the runnig gear I´m going to use(from the spares box) parts
from the Tiger II, sprocket and idler, plus Tiger 1 road wheels steel type and.. well you can guess the track when I get it on
I´ll try to keep this post updated in the next few days.
Happy modelling
Paul.

Seems you've made a good start. This is going to be an interesting build.

Hello,
well the next few days has turned into months sorry.
I´ve now finished the building part, I changed my mind about the running gear. I used the stuff that was left over from my 88mm PaK 43 Waffenträger and the tracks from the ancient Dragon kit 3813 track and road wheel set for Pz 38t.
Some more bit and pieces were added from the excellent Tamiya Pz.IV OVE kit. The barrel is from RB models and an MG 34 is coming from Peddinghaus Decals. Well with a bit of luck I shall get it to the paint shop tomorrow, so here you have it:

nice!
One friend (Calum melrose) take one great idea of other friend (Frank Forster) in my FB Panzer1946.
He took some external Steel wheels of panther and replace the wheels of 38t. And the result is Excelent, you have one Jagd38 with steel wheels, and is more logical for the extra load. He build this convertion on Kugelblitz on 38D.
maybee this idea help you in your model.
cheers.

Hi Maultier,
I also toyed with the idea of using a different running gear, I thought of the steel wheels from K.Tiger. But
then changed my mind, as you can see on one of the fotos
there are the plans, taken from Spielberger and Doyles Leichte Jagdpanzer, and on those you can see the running is the same as the Hetzer, just spread out more.
Are there any pictures of your friends model ?
I would like to see what the paint job looks like, mine is going to be a two or three tone, haven´t decided yet.

impressive! You made that look easy!
a idea-replace the cupola with the type from a StuG-it would have a much lower profile.
my 2 cents!

Hi Dan,
I´m afraid your 2 cents are too late I started the paint job
this afternoon.
It wasn´t realy that difficult, all I did was take the angles of the drawings and transfered them to plastic card.
Here´s the original from Spielberger, Doyle and Jentz with my measurements:
Hope this is helpfull for anyone out there.

Hi all,
thanks for the cool criticism it´s well apreciated
even though I´ve been a bit neglective to this project
again
Well here´s some paint:
Now you are all asked. I want the red numbers, and the ghost Div. insignia
Do you think thats ok?
And I´d like to do the main gun in different color:
Heat protective paint or something like that.
And of course there´s going to be some oils and pigments added, later

Hi there,
well, I call this done. It took along time for this "stop gap project" but that don´t really matter, just as long you get the thing finished.
I know this is a "what if" but I just can´t be bothered
to give a background story to this one. So just look
and enjoy, if not the any critic will be taken as an improvement for any future projects
Jagdpanzer 38 d and Hetzer
Jagdpanzere 38 d and Waffenträger 8.8cm
Jagdpanzer 38 d with Waffenträger 12.8cm
Jagdpanzer 38 d with E50 Ausf.B
Jaagdpanzer 38 d with E100 StuG Ausf. A
Well as said, I hope you liked it
I sure do, and can´t wait for my next space filler
Have a happy weekend folks, thanks for watching and please
remember you don´t always need a kit to make a model

Amazing Paul. Sadly I have to admit I'm more interested in you E-50 with the Vampir system on it (working on the Tamiya Tiger I, thought of adding it as a 'what if').

Hi all,
thanks very much for kind remarks, who knows what I´ll attempt next.
I have some crazy fotos of Borgwards with 5cm Sfl like a
mini Marder, or with a 5cm in a turret and even with 10.5cm
recoilless gun.
Well what ever it won´t be this year, maybe around July 2013, but that is a different story.
@Christopher (Tiger_213) As you have an interest in my E50 Ausf.B, I have just posted a couple of pics in my Gallery.
Hope you like ´em.
Till next time....
