Hi,
I intend to build dragon's sd.kfz.251 ausf. D,
it's gonna be from the battle of kharkov 1943.
Aber has two PE sets for its upper armor - standard and late.
Does anybody know what should it be? (and what's the difference, as I can't find it anywhere?)
Thanks alot
Idan

Idan ,, Well the D model half track didn't enter service till 1943 anyway so since 43 is the time line you want i would go with standard as late hasn't happened yet .
Now what i need to know is that the model your building the Sd kfz 251 just the APC version or is it one of the other versions ?
If it is just the 251/1 then the standard will work perfectly.

Hey Phil thanks for your reply
I'd build either the apc or the 7.5 canon version
Does it make a difference in that case?

Hey matey ... Oh yeah there is many differences between the 251/1 and the 251/9 , the main difference of course is the gun and its mounting .. then theres the storage racks for the ammo ,,internally there's many differences .
To be able to do the PE for the 251/9 Stummel you will need the PE set for it .
So since you've got the choose of the standard version PE go with that and then you can detail the living hell out of the interior .
Plenty of space then to play with

Thanks man that's great.
And while we're at it, i've seen 3 different 251 track sets from friulmodel, do you know which one is correct?

Idan,
Kharkov is too early for a D - they didn't start production until September. Sdkfz251s at Kharkov would have been Ausf C.
