There is something small coming from Tamiya, and by small I mean a small staff car.

Interesting, they got Simca to license the name. I could see a bunch of options for this: France, 1940 or even France, 1944 with Germans using it.

It is interesting in the on the upper left hand corner is says "Manufactured under license from Peugeot" I think that is the first time I have seen something like that on a model box.

That's GREAT!!!
Actually that's a "Fiat 500 Topolino" (traslated the name means "Little mouse") It was designed by the famous Italian car designer Dante Giacosa
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dante_Giacosa)
and it was produced from 1936 to 1955.
Originally it was intended as a sort of small version of the "Fiat Balilla"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_500_%22Topolino%22
(A resin model produced by Model victoria some years ago)
In France Simca produced the Fiat Topilino under license, and it was called Simca-5, but it's an Italian car
The "Topolino" was used a lot during the WW2 by Italian army, German army and Italian partisan
Here in Italy is considered as a "Cult car". Also now there are many collector clubs
Outstanding piece of news! I'm really happy, I know I'll buy 3 or 4 for sure!!
(Morover there are LOTS OF REFERENCE PIC ABOUT ON THE NET)

Really something special.
For many of us again a ' Let' s do it in between model. ' . Thus increasing the pile of model boxes in our boot!
Having searched the web I saw some pictures of the sprues. The realisation of a civil version ( number plates are on the decal sheet) with the chrome parts fixed on the wheel and body may create a challenge.
Nevertheless, a fine choise from Tamiya.
Let' s get started! When is it for sale in The Netherlands?

Actually quite a few Tamiya kits have that on the box, for example their Humvee (A.M. General) and the Willys Jeep (Jeep)

You see it a lot on car models, and I think I've seen it on an aircraft kit too

Not French army, but there is a marking option for a French (civilian) car.

A French Army one shouldn't be too hard to do using AM decals sets like those released by Editions du Barbotin :

I was over the moon when i saw this one popping up on facebook. It is a release of such unexpected levels from Tamiya that I still fear it might end up being a hoax.
I see myself buying this kit. It is such a funny car. Not so much something you step into but more something you wear . it is absolutely brilliant. The possibilities are endless as the pictures posted here show.

Note the Notek lamp. That must be a civilian exempar painted in red(?) and black
Eastern front
As I said before, I'm quite satisfied. I would have been happier if Italeri had made this kit..

Mauro I believe the second picture in your post shows the "bigger" (if I may say so ) Fiat 1100 (built in France as the Simca 8 ).
It looks like the Notek light location varies from one car to another...
Here's a French Army Simca 5 in 1940 (According to "L'automobile sous l'uniforme 1939-1940", about 1000 Simca 5s were delivered to the French Army before the Armistice. Many were used as a side-cars replacement for liaison and circulation control ):

Fiat Topilino was built also in Germany under license. It was called FIAT-NSU 500

It would be REALLY great finding an exemplar captured and employed by Soviet Army
