Update so I can keep up with animal.
First pic is the LAV-C Marine Command and Control, a mix of Italeri, Esci, eduard and Evergreen!
Next is the M115A1, a M113 (Tamiya FSV) with a Italeri LAV-25 turret. It was in the game. I added the standoff armor and will be adding hte Anti-RPG nets after the first coat of paint.
last is the stuff I am working on for a client, the "New" M113A2 from Tamiya, the US Marines M1A1 from DML, and the "new" M2A2 ODS from Tamiya.

I was wondering who makes the LAV command conversion. or is it scratchbuild?
BTW nice models.
Do keep us informed, especially on the LAV.

All three are top notch. I esp. like the additional armor on the M115A1. The RPG netting is a nice touch. I may have to steal that idea and make some side skirts for the Sumbo, like the mattress spring the Soviets welded onto the T34/85s.

Looks good. By the way, an M113 A1 was tested with a LAV turret here in canada about 15 years ago.

Ok, there is no "conversion" for the LAV-C, it is a mating of the Italeri LAV-25 kit and the Esci LAV-C kit ( the Esci LAV series has incorrect plate angles for the chassis).
thanks for all the praise, I hope I live up to all the hype when it is all done!
Everything is now preliminarily painted and I have the AEF Designs wheels on the LAV now, and the suspension on for the M115A1...and the anti-RPG screens glued on.
And I knew those crazy canadians had messed with the mix of LAV turret and M113...they will try anything, eh? I also know there was a bradley turret/M113 mix floated as well. I think the canadian attempt inspired the T2K vehicle.

Jacque, I hope you are on my side. These are looking great. The LAV is looking good but the M-115 is really coming out very nice. The turret fits it as if it should be there. I have a LAV kit in my stash and Iam going to have to build a command version like yours. I relly like yours. Keep thinking outside the box. YOu do the statement justise..

ok, The quality of the AEF Designs wheels is fine. Pretty much the same as any set of resin wheels. I think they are worth the US$12 that Tony is asking for them on his website. HOWEVER, I bought my wheels from a vender who had them on hand. Tony usually only casts up kits as he gets orders for them, so he can tend to be a bit slow on getting orders out...so be warned.
And Animal, I am not quite sure who's side all this mess will be on! And if you use the Esci kit for the base of the LAV-C, be warned that the heing fo the kit part is too low. It needed to be about 1/4 inch higher than it was, but I found out too late. Oh well, I have the "short person" version!

next update, main paint phase is done, and main drybrushing is done. Now it is time to add markings and get to weathering.
Also, I decided to do a diorama to put these vehicles I am doing into...stay tuned, the armorama people should get a big kick out of this. :-)
And the last picture is of my time eaters, the builds for money. They are the Tamiya M2A2 ODS, the DML M1A1 Marines, and the Tamiya M113A2 OIF. Man I HATE HATE HATE those crappy tamiya M113 tracks. Sigh, I gotta go take my pill... #:-)

Great stuff there Jacques! Not only are your customers lucky to receive such great works, but WE are also fortunate to have such great build ups as part of the gallant Blue Team!!!!!
So what kind of 'stand-off' armour is that exactly on your M115A1 again? That's not some young Marines old set of 'rack' springs is it!?!

Jaques,
They look GREAT !!! I especially like the LAVC. I should have snagged the esci kits years ago, just for the parts alone. Now they are gone for quite some time. Todd AKA THE FOX

I've said it once, I'll say it again - I love your LAV! Very neat builds. Query: the Mk19 on the LAV - Dragon or Tamiya?

ok, the story is as follows.
The M115A1 is a M113 upgraded with spare LAV turrets and issued out to National Guard units. MY example is a leftover in the states that has had extra armor plate added with spacers to help make the platform more survivable. Also, since RPG's are not only prevalent but also able to puncture the M113 fairly easily, a anti-rpg screen was made from simple Iron stock. No bed frames used here!
All of this is based on my own real-world experience in a metal shop, so it is crude but easy and quick. It should also be effective.
The esci kit is a good start, and there are plenty around to buy still. They run around $20, which seems to be too much. Maybe someone will do a conversion with a better hull top.
the Mk19 is the DML offering. Fiddly, but beautiful.
and thanks for allthe comments guys, it keeps me going! The rest of you TW2K guys seem to be doing just as well.
