I sometimes see the two halves of the vehicle body painted before being glued. I was wondering about this process.
Is this a viable approach? My worry is, if I paint the two halves of the hull before gluing them together, during the final attachment, there might be problems like glue remains around the separation lines that might need sanding on the painted surface. What happens then?
I would like to see how you do in if some of you prefer painting major parts before assembly.

Hey Oykun, usually painting before putting halfs together is done when painting after assembly would make it hard or impossible to get into tight spaces. Interiors of A.F.V. and aircraft are very hard to do when together and small details almost impossible to reach. It's just a matter of what will show and needs to be painted. If you have any doubts, dry fit the parts together and see if you can get to them when glued together. When glueing the halfs together, after painting, be carefull of too much glue. It can melt and spread most paints unless you clear coat them first. And crazy glues might leave a frost like affect when dry over the paint. Best to test on a scrap piece of plastic first or ask here. Hope this helps explain the situation for you.
