Finally get a chance to get back into my dioramas full time.
I have an idea for a fairly large Diorama set at Peleliu in the Pacific.
LVT 4 Flame thrower, Dave Harper wanted to make this and I don’t know if he ever did or not but I got the bug and have to try my hand at scratch building it.
It is made just to slide into the back of an LVT 4. They had only 6 of these at Peleliu and the LVT 4 changed around from photo to photo. I’ll decide which LVT4 after I actually make a usable flamethrower.
Waiting for my supplies from Sprue Brothers and I’ll take more photos as I go along.
Glad to be back at it,
Bob

!st time I ever saw that set-up. One odd ball looking peice of equipment. Looking forward to seeing this one. Must have taken a very brave Marine to man that with cardboard thin walls in a L.V.T.

Hi Bob,
Not only that when they first started to use these at Peleliu they led the tanks in.
They did figure out later it was safer to have 2 tanks leading them in.
They have some great clips of these at Critical Past. Look up number 65675022870, you can change the last number up and down to see more.

Thanks for the link Bob. Lately I've had this thing for w.w.2 marines with the release of D.M.L. Peleliu set. Now if they would release a set for Wake Island with a water cooled 50 cal. If you P/U a set of those Peleliu Marines, be aware there are not enough ammo pouchs for 3 riflemen.

Thanks Bob
Under Critical past just do an advanced search and use the dates and locations and every clip will turn up.
Be creative on the item I found some interesting ones under uncommon locations.
