Hi Saw on the PMMS site that the afv club is going to release an 8.8cm Pak 43/41 AT gun in November. If this is as detailed as the German Artillery piece they how have out, it should make a real interesting addition to many out there. Always like this piece. Really deadly looking. And it was too.
Take care, sgirty

Pity that AFV Club couldn't bring out some allied artillery. An affordable british 17 pounder would be a good place to start (along with towing vehicle) and a British 5.5" and Tractor...Jim

I'm always surprised atthe small number of arty entries at shows, but then again I've never finshed (or stared for that matter) any of the arty I own. Hmmm, maybe that could be a quick project between projects.....

I think AFV Club's superb M102 105mm cannon and M59 155mm Long Tom cannon make them the leader in producing modern injection molded US towed artillery.Pity that AFV Club couldn't bring out some allied artillery. Sgirty,
I think you'll be pleased. Someone in my modeling club just told me this kit is going to include a turned aluminium barrel, and a PE gun shield.. The wheels would also have separate rubbers...

Agreed I have both kits have already built the 8" nice kit will finish the 155 MM next year another great kit even better if you use the Eduard set for it.
Just wish that Dragon would do an 88 MM !!!
To todays standards.
Edit and get the PSP wheels as some 155s used civilian tires really a nice touch

Sabot, I don't care as long as they bring out MORE allied artillery, the one I would love to see in plastic would be the US 8", now that, with an M10 prime mover would be something worth doing. A US 57mm would be welcome as well. In fairness, having seen the pics of the German 105mm, I would not be averse to building one of these either....
AFV club should be congratulated on its release 'philosophy' nowadays there are 2 companies who stand out AFV Club and Accurate Miniatures.
Both of these companies (and Academy) deserve a special mention from me for the following reasons. I have to be pretty careful as to what I start for a simple reason. If I start something that is going to need a lot of after-market stuff, it is going to cost me big time. Apart from Jordi Rubio or Mig Productions (naturally!) virtually everything has to be bought from abroad, from Britain, The States or from Blast Models in France which with the added cost of postage, tends to push the price up considerably. I think a lot of modellers such as those in much of europe and in Australia and New Zealand probably find similar problems (if not worse). I'm lucky I suppose in the sense that I can get as much Vallejo paint as I need, but everything else has to be ordered from Madrid or Barcelona. Therefore when a company produces models in the quality of AFV Club etc. It really makes life a lot easier for me.....Jim

Although I failed to mention the M115 8" howitzer, Jeff(sgtreef) has mentioned it. I hear it is a pretty decent kit. I saw it (#AF 35S-06) and the M59 Long Tom (#AF 35009) at my local store today. Both have been out for several years, Great Models carries both of them.Sabot, I don't care as long as they bring out MORE allied artillery, the one I would love to see in plastic would be the US 8", now that, with an M10 prime mover would be something worth doing.
While I will admit that three towed US artillery pieces aren't a whole lot, they have a small range of kits so this is a high percentage. I think only Italeri has this many US towed gun kits, but their towed cannon kits are over 30 years old.

Guess that's one advantage living on the contenental US and that is availability of kits, aftermarket stuff and semi-reasonable postage. Seems those fellows in Hong Kong can get everything pretty cheap. The ebay prices are great, just the shipping costs more thn the kit. I"m not an arty person, but AFV sure does make some nice stuff
