Does anybody have any info on the special jeep squadron the British used at Arnhem in Market Garden? Were they basically SAS type rigs or what?

Take a look at this link, http://www.thewarandpeaceshow.com , keep following the links and the photo galleries and you will find an excellent photo of the (only) preserved SAS jeep in Britain. Warning this may take some time... http://visualcollector.com/OBLI/JeepSignals.htm is where the best pics of the airborne modifications are...Hope this helps, Jim

I remember in the book "A bridge too far" it mentions quite a bit about this group at arnhem. If you have access to the book it may be of some assistance.

All I know is that most of the Jeeps from that squadron didn't make it into the battle, because they where damaged / destroyed before the actual fighting began...

you might wanna search Google with the name "Freddie Gough" as search string... he commanded that recce airlanding squadron during the battle.
