Since the M-42 has been released - in 2 versions, can it be too much to ask that the equally important Korean war 40mm SPG M-19 be released.
Aside from the cost, I have seriously thought about getting the M42 and the new M24 Chaffee and doing the conversion as the turret was the same. It shouldn't be too hard.
While the M42 was used in Vietnam and exported, the M-19 was a very important Korean War AFV and deserves to be finally modeled

Amen to that, and if there are any kit manufacturers out there that are willing, I am happy to provide as many references as needed!

.... simple mathematics:
AFV Club M42 Duster
plus
AFV Club M41 Gorilla HMC(announced)
equals
AFV Club M19 GMC
Lets hope they get it!!!!

Bronco could also jump in as they have the M24 hull ready to go. I hope that either way it comes out.

As someone who has seriously considered an M19 scratch conversion, I can firmly attest that the M42's gun mount (i.e. "turret") was not the same as the one on the M19.

But I suspect this is on AFV Club's drawing boards...

It was developed during WWII but did not get into series production until after the cessation of hostilities.

At least you can mate the Duster turret to the LVTP5 hull to build the LVTAA-X1 SPAAG prototype :

If you compare these drawings, you'll notice the M19 turret diameter looks to be smaller :

If I get a chance this morning, I'll try to go down and measure the two and see if there's a difference. The gun shields are identical as are the guns themselves (well, except our M19, which has the gun tubes reattached upside down... don't get me started).

We've got an M19, M42 and M42A1 in the collection. It's just a matter of getting the time to go down and take measurements.

Here are some M19 pics. You see many many detail differences w/an M42.

BTW: US nomenclature did not use a hyphen in their "M" series desingations. Therefore it's always "M19" and never "M-19". FYI
