Hi all
This is one of my latest finnished models. It's the late Panther SmartKit from Dragon with a barrel from JB model and etch from Aber. It's supposed to depict a vehicle from 23. Pz.Div. during operation Konrad II in Hungary ´45.
Please do comment.
Regards Jacob

Beautiful work Jacob! Of course it's hard to hide I am a Panther fan (my user name gives it away) and yours is purrfect!

I see the black wash but what did you use to give it a light dusting? That's the look I like the best as the weathering is just right and those JB barrels are a must with ever kit and affordable too.

They need to give the Panther tanks a separate section like they did the Russian section has for I think it would be very active!

Thanks for sharing your build Jacob!

Good job!
I can see in some panel lines or weld lines, your washing was lost.
The gun should has some steel core color at the base which collision with the gun mantlet, because there is a friction between the barrel and the gun mantlet when shooting

I can't say anything more, your cat is great already!

Jeff: Thank you for the kind words. The dust is from light colored pastel chalks, which are grinded to a powder like substance. Probably works like the MIG production ones, but a lot cheaper
Mai: I will say no to the bare steel color on the gun barrel, because the gun is made smaller just outside the mantel, which means there's no friction there. I looked through a bunch of pictures, and non of them had any signs of bare metal where the barrel comes through the mantel, but if anyone can produce af clear picture of this, I will stand corrected.

I just wanted to say thank you for posting several close-up photos so that we can see and appreciate the subtle details of your build. You have a very well balanced technique for weathering and small details that reward anyone who wants to take a closer look at your Panther.

I agree with you on the barrel. I haven't seen that either, and you can clearly see in your 8th photo where the barrel tapers into a smaller diameter as it clears the mantlet.

Hi Jacob,
I really like the finish on your Panther, it looks excellent.
Superb little detail touches; headlight, antenna tube, cable eyes and clamps, but especially the 'Jack in the box'.
May I ask what brand paint and colours you used for the 3 base colours?

Grant.

Grant: I use Tamiya paint, but I always do several washes too, so the colors are lighter and brighter than they apear on the finnished model.

Jacob,

VERY impressive build/paint/weathering job! I don't yet have a Panther kit, but yours is a motivation to get one! I'm really impressed with the subtle damage you have modeled on the mantlet and the canister. Very nicely done!

Great work! The tools and bit of battle damage make it really interesting.

Really nice work, really nice. The tool work alone "makes" the build. I like seeing the jack inside the tool bin at the rear, as I think the factory method for storing the jack would have gone bye-bye in combat.

Also the round that tried to ricochet off the mantlet.

Thank you for the kind words, Bill, as I told you some time ago, that Panther book from Canfora really inspired me, and this is not the last Panther on the work bench.

Jacob,

A truly outstanding rendition! Excellent build all the way around. Could easily be taken for the real deal if placed on a base with a lifelike background.

Thanks for sharing your build and keep up the good work,
~ Eddy
