I haven't built a tank model in years and recently bought the Tamiya Tiger I (1/35) due to it's easy construction and several Internet reviews I've read. I know the model was based on the captured Tiger at Bovington (and have bought the Haynes book) but the decal options in the kit show to be only from 501st Heavy Tank Battalion whereas the model is based on a tank assigned to the 504th. There's enough differences between the two initial versions where I want to do the 504th tank and keep this a simple build.

Am thinking I need to buy the Tiger DAK Bison decal set that has a turret number for the 504th - right?
Thanks for any insight..

No need to answer this inquiry, after I started building the model I saw Tamiya included the parts for the 501st tanks. Easy, relaxing build - typical Tamiya....

Sal:
Nice looking model! Wasn't looking at doing a blog just wanted a relaxing kit to build. I'm following the photos of 121 in the old Arms and Armor book on the DAK in Tunsia. So far have removed the left fender to match photos but that's about all. No PE, no aftermarket decals just an OOB build (which for me is a first). I usually build 1/48 WW1 aircraft but I have a stash of 1/35 North Africa WW2 armor I want to build. Retired in March so I finally have the time.
