Hi everyone,

I have been modelling for very little time, now, and I'd like to show you some pictures of my BT-7. I would like you to be as critical (positively and/or negatively but constructively) as possible, because I really want to improve myself.

And the diorama that should follow:

Don't worry, each article is written in French and in English!

Thanks for your comments

Hello,
The diorama pieces look really great, especially that rusted piece. The BT you've done some nice chipping.

I admit I'm not a huge fan of the modulation style in general. When the contrasting colors are not close in likeness to the base color, it looks like there have been a bunch of parts replaced from the scrap yard. But, I know this is part of that method.

Carry on as it looks like an interesting dio!

Thank you for this very constructive comment... Yes, I'm experimenting the modulation style and I do think this is not yet soft enough !
New pics coming soon !

I agree with Greg's comment about the modulation on the BT-7. It's hard to master the subtlety involved in modulation which leads to the problem of high contrast parts which, as Greg pointed out, look like they were replaced.

Your rust and weathering techniques on the metal container and the yellow deck with the ladder are very impressive.

I totally agree!

Thanks for the deck and the container. I've used the Dust and Rust set from Lifecolor, and it is very simple to use for great effects!

Thanks!

Really? I'll have to pick up that set next time I need to pick up supplies. How long did it take you to learn how to use it that effectively?

Very little time!!! Actually you'll have 6 bottles of paint inside. 2 for dust and 4 for rust.
On the package you have a small walkthrough showing you how to use it.
But, the sponge technique works like hell.
But here is the process:
1- light rust airbrush
2- darker rust airbrush + paintbrush (or sponge)
3- Base rust brush (or sponge)
4 - Dark rust brush (or sponge)
They show small pictures on the package. You can even add some dark blue to imitate really old rust.

Truely... You've got to have that.
My container was a first try!!! Convincing, isn't it?

Hi steph !

I made the cans... I don't know which cans you're talking about... If it's the kegs you're talking about, well, they're just aluminum leaf (rigid ones, for food...)

1- Sand the leaf
2- With the tip of a pen draw lines
3- roll the leaf around a pen or pencil
4- glue it
5- with a cutter compass cut discs in Plastic Card
6- glue them !

For the compressor or gaz tank, the technique is about the same, and I glued some PC on it as well.

I hope this helped you !
