Hi

I'm venturing out into unfamiliar terrain with my latest builds; WWII vehicles.

Here's Tamiya's wonderful Char B1 bis built out of the box, completed with an antenna and Echelon decals. An easy build without any real problems. The model is painted with Tamiya/Gunze acrylics and weathered with oil paints/white spitits.

Regards
/Tomas

Very nice looking. Is the track from the kit?

Yes, Tamiya have included a set of working link-by-link tracks, very unusual for Tamiya but they look really nice. The super detaliers would probably fill/sand the "mouldmark" on every track link (the spot on the raised upper part of the links) but I think it look ok without doing it.

Really nice. Do you plan on creating a Dio or adding some figures ?
This tank is fascinating ! I'll probably get one someday !

Anyway, really nice work ! Congrats !

I love that kit, and your build really does it justice! Seems like it would look great on a small base depicting a grassy field, and maybe a few random flowers.

Very nice B1 bis Tomas.
Just one (minor) point, the name Cher refers to a river and not to the adjective "cher" (dear in English) so your title should be simply Cher without "mon".
I know it's pure nitpicking

Can you explain how did you finish the chain at the back?

Hi all

Thanks for your kind words. I'm not used to makeing bases
but I'll take it into consideration.

Olivier: no worries, that kind of nitpicking is interesting.
All tanks have its own history and I hadn't the slightest
idea that Cher was a river. Hope you don't mind if I keep
the title as kind of a word game, as I believe the tanks
crew in the good old days thougt of "Cher" as their "precious".

Oykun: of course, first a black base paint plus a little
light sand on random places. When dry, a thick layer of oil
paint. Before the slow drying paint hardens, scrub away most
of it with white spitit (a mild thinner). If you continue
you'll remove all the paint and can start over if you want.
I used a black/brown oil paint on the chain.

The chain in the kit is polished steel and on some places it
(unintentionally) shines thru where I managed to wear away
the paint.
Hope this helps.

See you later
/Tomas

Fantastic work love the chains, the Tamiya B1 is such a photogenic kit.
