Not enough room for the full name, but it is T-34/76. Well, I'm starting to build "braille scale" armor and I started buying these Revell 1/76 kits, they're very cheap here (so far I bought 6 from Revell all Matchbox original moulds and 1 Airfix set). First impressions about this little 1/76:

1.-I don't like the wheels at all, they can be detailed though.

2.- The AA machine gun is out of place. AFAIK, this version didn't use an AA machine gun.

Now the real question: Which version does it depict? Box says "Modell 1940" but I don't think so, it looks more like a 1941 or 1942, 1940 version used a different gun. I read something about the turret, that it depicts a rare version that doesn't match the hull. If so, what I need to modify it. Any help wil be appreciated. Best regards.

José.

P.S. I'd like to know more about the kit provided decals, On the instruction sheet only says "Unbekannte Einheit" for both of them, one overall green, one in winter camuflage. Some markings and numbers are provided for the turret sides:

Hi José

According to this first-look review this is a Model 1942 as built by Zavod No.112 Krasnoye Sormovo of Gorki.

Oh, Model 1942 from the 112, same as AFV's 1/35. The link doesn't work, but thanks anyway. Best regards.

I dunno if this helps but Unbekannte Einheit. I think means unknown unit or something like that.

It's a "Model '42" from Factory 183 similar to Tamiya's old kit with the later 'simplified' hull. And you are right about the Dushka being wrong for the type.

BTW, the whole "model/year" thing is a non-official way of identifying the general pattern of T-34 you're looking at.
Some references refer to any 76mm tank with the "flat" turret as "Model '41" but these are the exception. Most will call any tank with the F-34 gun and earlier style hull (with the rounded rear plates) a "Model '41" and T-34s with the same gun but simplified hull "Model '42". When the cupola is added to the hex turret it becomes a "Model '43".
