Hi Team,
I have started my build Trumpeter KV1 Heavy Turret 1942. I am planning to depict the KV1 Late (Feb – Sep 1942). . Here are some progress pics. I have posted in the campaign thread but everybody is so busy building I hardly get any comments in there. So I thought of sharing them in here. Please post your comments and Thanks in advance..

Completed step1 and step 2
I have opened up the slot for headlight cable which I understand is wrong. Never realized that the correct one is the inner most slot. Need to plug this one open the next one about 5mm towards right.
I have the engine deck from the earlier build which does not have the dome. Earlier I thought I need to use the flat engine hatch cover but after going through 4BOGreen site, understand that the kit part is the correct version. Refer the pic. Below:
I am stuck at step 2. There seems to be an ugly gap running along the edge on one side while fixing the engine compartment area (part Q3). Hope I could finish the problem area ASAP and move along. I used Mr.surfacer 500 to fill the gap and waiting for it to dry. I will start with the wheels in the mean while.

Have some progress on my build. Completed base coat of Russian Green. Still wondering how to go about...
Whether to go for winter camo or just green with little bit of weathering....
appreciate your feedback and thanks for viewing..

Great build, i love these Trumpeter KV kits. What did you use for the mud on the running gear?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Great job on the whitewash as well as the running gear! I built one of Trumpy's KVs a couple years ago and intend to build a couple of more.

Great job indeed! Your white wash and weathering look really convincing. To be honest, when I've seen your base coat I thought that it looked a bit too "green"...but now, after the weathering process, I'd say that your model looks great
Congrats

Hi Mauro,
Thanks. Pleased that you folks like it. Probably park it for now and add a figure and bit more weathering after some time. I think I have signed up too many campaign builds that I am falling behind.
Hi Brandon,
The mud is mixture of acrylic paint (a drop) + a dollop of sandable venyl speckle (available in any hardware shop. White paste consistency) + some white glue (Elmer’s) + finely cut nylon brush bristles (very finely cut. Had a big brush just for this purpose). After the paste is created, applied randomly and sealed with gloss coat (I wanted a wet look). Hope this helps.
H Matt,
Thanks for the comment. Yah, KVs are one of the best Trumpeter’s better offerings. This is my 4th KV I think.
