I found these pictures of a final production king tiger and was wondering if anyone knew what king of tracks and drive sprockets were mounted on this particular vehicle. As far as I know, most of the final production king tigers had 18 tooth sprockets and were fitted with transport tracks, but the track link hanging on the turret looks like a full size link, not a transport one. Any thoughts? Also, does anyone know where these pictures were taken?

Many Thanks
Sam

Late/Final production KTs were to use Kgs 73/800/152 single link tracks. Some KTs, during the Ardennes Offensive, were fitted with this particular track.

Sam,

this particular Tiger B has the standard battle tracks (not the late single link ones). It is impossible however to say for sure what kind of sprocket this tank was equipped with (we just can't see). You could suppose / use the late 18 teeth one. BTW this is the only known (so far) picture of a Tiger B with twelve pairs of track hangers on the turret that saw actually entered service.
