Ah, the time frame is in UK order - Day/Month/Year! It's six months, starting from first January, not six days!

Hello Tom,
I have a VW Käfer (Beatle) from Italeri in DAK use, somewhere in my stash. Would this be acceptable
By the way which part of East Anglia are you from ?

Hi Paul,
The beetle is fine! (I was building one when the idea struck...)
I'm in the "London" corner of Essex, inside the M25. Our club (Essex MAFVA) meets in Hornchurch on the first Tuesday evening of each month - do drop in if you're in the area, we're a friendly bunch and the kettle is always on the go. Otherwise, look for me & the gang at model shows throughout the Essex/Cambridge/Kent region! (Whereabouts are you located?)

Hi Tom,
now all I have to do is find the damned thing

, its in the cellar somewhere.
I´m from Market Deeping just the other side of Peterborough,
just inside of Lincs, but I live and work in Germany. I get home 2 -3 times a year to visit my parents and if there´s a show on between there and Duxford I try to get it.
Cheers
Paul

Well, our lot go to the MAFVA Nationals at Duxford in June (Father's Day), and sometimes the Nottingham MAFVA show in Feb/March. If you are in-country in Feb there is a show in Folkestone, Kent called On Track that's really good. (A bit out of your way, though...)

Hi chaps,
In case anything happens in the next seven days, please note that I will be off-line and will respond next Sunday (4th Nov) when I get back. Fingers crossed for approval...

I just enlisted. I started watching Herman Wouk's The Winds of War on Netflix last night and it is packed with nifty looking staff cars.
The first episode starts out with a convoy of three staff cars heading for a meeting with Hitler. I'm not sure about the first car, the hood ornament suggests a Rolls-Royce. My uneducated guess is the second is Mercedes Benz Type 170V and the third is a Mercedes Benz Type 260D. Not sure about accuracy, but there are lots of nice looking automobiles from the period.

Hello everyone.
I just enlisted, thought this would be something different.
I have a 1/32 Lindberg 1940 Ford Convertible. I think this would build up into a nice Stateside Staff car, maybe Hawaii, cause it being a convertible. I think I saw one similar getting destroyed early in one of the Pearl Harbor movies.. LOL
I think it will meet the criteria of the campaign :>

Hi Delbert,
A 1940 Ford in 1:32? Sounds great! Can't wait to see it.
My own first entry will be the Bronco Stabswagen, in the US markings for the '45 occupation. Tempted to pick up the old Tamiya generals set and have Ike or Patton at a meeting...

Is this kit acceptable to the campaign?
Thanks,

I'm interested in doing a Simca 5 in civilian markings. Would that be ok? It seems to meet rule 4's criteria of private-post military hands.
Cheers

I've just just joined up, I have tamiya's austin tilly just sitting around looking to build. But I also have miniman's M1009 CUCV was wondering if it's acceptable for this campaign? I'm looking at building two kits since the tilly is small and simple to build.

Hi guys, sorry I've been a bit silent!
Tom, that 770 is perfect! Looking forward to seeing the build.
Jeff, a Simca is perfect too. (Was looking at one in the shop the other day. It's even smaller than the 11CV kit...)
Christopher, both kits are welcome! (Had to google the M1009 out of ignorance - now I know what the Army calls a Blazer!)
On another note, I'd better get cracking on a ribbon & banner! Anyone got any strong feelings about them? The 50x20 pixel size will make the ribbon a challenge. (I was hoping to do a dealer's lot, but may have to settle for a car silhouette.)

) Looking forward to lots of fine modelling...

Got it in the mail today! Opened the box and man, this thing is packed full of detail! I don't think it's going to be a quick easy build.

Hey John,
Welcome to the showroom! I can't wait to see that Jeep build - I hear it has more parts than the real thing!
And I'm still struggling for a good banner idea that can fit into 50x20 pixels. Anyone got any thoughts?
