Matt:
For a typical Panzer IV - G - not a special command or observation vehicle - you are talking about a FuG 2 receiver and / or FuG 5 transmitter and receiver sets.
(FuG = Funk-Gerat). Radios were very very standardized amongst these panzers.
See the following site as a possible guide for radio types and for the associated antennae:

Cheers!

Dragon has this kit I remembered. The No.6594-Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.G Apr-May 1943 Production. You could take it as your reference.

Thanks for the info Bob.
I'm building Dragon's Pz.IV ausf.G 1943 and there is no kit interior supplied.

Matt;
from this, I'm supposing that you will be adding in some interior in the driver's / radio op's compartment... in the Panzer IV, the radio probably sat up in the center over the tranny and facing the left side of the radio op. There are of course various interior kits and stuff around - I think that the Trumpeter bergepanzer IV kit has a basic compartment interior included... which has been a sort of potential source idea to me for one of these IV builds.

I'm going with Verlinden's WWII German radios set. I have a few photos of the placement from other forums. One actually referenced it as a FuG5, instead of a FuG2. I'm going with the FuG2.

Thanks for the references Adrian. Those will be useful. I just got another panzer iv w/partial interior I won't be using. I believe it includes the radio apparatus.
