Teaching an old dog new trick ?
This kit is almost as almost as old as me...
But I love Tamiya kits for their ease of assembly although there are some fitting issue here and there which I chose to ignore or fill with putty
Took me about 2 weekends to add in the cast texture and complete the assembly.
Currently learning how to "airbrush" a 3 tone camo free hand. Will try it on this kit...in the coming weeks
Just wondering who is the old dog here !!!

Mikado,
That kit is an oldie but a goody. Builds into a good model.
I've done 3 so far. OOB, some PE, AM barrel. The kit always looks good.
Nice job on the texture. Are you going to try an ambush paint job?

"The purpose of Camo is the break the outline of the shape so that it doesnt look obvious to the naked eyes"...that's what my instructor told me during baisc training many moons ago...
" Always begin your model knowing what you want to achieve when you think your model is done..", this was what Dinesh Ned told me when I spoke to him sometime back.
So...to cut a long story short, I decided to use colour pencil to try to break the outline of the model since I know my free hand sparying can be a disaster if there is no proper fences...
Got the green coat in last night after marking the fence using a green colour pencil. Just completed marking out the red-brown fences.
Will spray the red-brown tonight ...hoot...hoot...

The cammo and paint look great so far.
Im in the market for a new "late war faded green" that will survive the filter wash, chips, pigments process and not end up looking like tamiya dk green.
What paint did you use?
Mike

Mike,
The green I used is Mr Color 312 lighten with some sail color.
Anyway, I sprayed the red-brown color in but the color pencil is still visble to the naked eyes...have to figure out how to removed them.
