Thanks to Gino(HeavyArty) and my lovely wife, I finelly get to build a 160th SOAR BlackHawk. Photo etch, Everbreen and Plastistruct, and lots of reference is going into this project. Why I say thanks to Gino, well, he sold me some olive drab decals for my bird. And my wife, well, she just let me spend money.
With out futher adew, here are some WIP pictures:

WOW!!
Do you mind slowing down a bit and explaining some of what you're doing? For example, what is the white cabling that you're using? Styrene rod? How did you shape it? I suppose I'm asking for a little SBS on your techniques. Fantastic work. I'll watch even if you won't/can't do a bit more SBS. Thanks agin

Sorry Anthony, of course I can slow down and explain some things. The white cabeling is from Radio Shack. It is "wire wrap" wire. It comes in spools of red, blue, green, and white. I just twisted 2, 3, 4, and 5 strands together and cut to different lengths. Tie off at different lengths with string to simulate wire ties. You can see a spool of the wire under the fuselage in the eigth picture.

Have one of these for sale. This build is making me reconsider. I'll be asking a lot of questions.

Builds like this would really make me consider trying a helicopter model ... there are so many possibilities for detailing and it looks great. Fantastic work so far Pete.

What references are you using? I may see if my dad's clearance allows him to photograph one of the seahawks at NAS Jax. If it does, I'll give you a thorough walk-around.

Good idea, another walk-around is always welcomed.
But... the Navy Seahawk is a totally different aircraft from a US Army MH-60L Blackhawk. It wouldn't be too much of a help in Pete's build.

I occasionally see blackhawks around, but I'm not sure where they are based. We have a Navy base, US Marine HQ and air guard. They may be down from Ft. Bennett.

First off, great build!
As for walkarounds, it usually just requires the permission of the unit commander. Sometimes a quick trip to S2 is required. I usually offer something to sweeten the deal as well. In the box, this usually means an hour or so of free weapons training, or ammo, or both.
I've got very good walkarounds of Seahawks in San Diego, both whole and in various states of disassembly.
Similarly, a good walkaround of a Jayhawk in Astoria, OR, just because I told a crewmember she had a "pretty" ride.
Most recently I did a walkaround of a firefighting Blackhawk in Utah. The crew walked over and asked why I was taking such odd photographs, and when I said I build models the crew chief said "I knew it!"
We all ended up drinking weak Utah beer on my tab.

Matt,
I'm using Prime Portal, Aircraft Resource Center, and web searches for my refrences.
Moreno,
Yes, Danny is right. The fittings are from Detail Masters. They come in verious sizes.
2nd installment of pictures tonight guys. This time I added some paint to the interior. It's only the first coat. I still have a lot of other details to add before I can start weathering. I have to add the rescue winch control box to the right side by the door, some more wiring and cables under the gunners and crew chief windows, static discharge rods, and fire extinguishers.

Great job on the console and wiring! Some extremely fine details on the console. I believe I can convert my Pavehawk(I just checked and I do have the MH60).

Fantastic. I was happy to notice that you're using pe for the console and placards. At first I thought you were painting that crap by hand! All the same, fantastic work. Thanks for letting us in on it!

That would explain the exceptional work on the control panel. And here I was wondering if I had a steady enough hand, small enough brush, and good enough magnification.

I just finished reading "In The Company of Hero's" by Mike Durant and am inspired to do this kit myself. Nice work. I'll be following this closely.
