Retirement has me doing all kinds of stuff. Now that I am a stay at home dad, I have time to work on my stash and contribute to the sight.

Here is just one of the projects I am working on:

Wow awesome details! I have never been in one of these vehicles, but your work is impressive looking. Seeing this kind of fun makes me think that I should retire!

Very nice. Are these all details from the Trumpeter kit, or did you add a bunch?

Thanks guys.

@ Gino:
The only thing I added in the interior is all the cabeling and NBC hoses. There are no seat belts in the kit, so I used a MotorSport racing harness and spread it among the 4 seats, looks close enough.

Didn't realise the kit was so detailed inside...

You've done a great job on it. Has me tempted now

Wow, I didn't realize the interior was so complete on this one either. I may have to get one of these as well.

Gino,
I will shoot a pic of the inside top hull. It has a couple of nice details and all I added where the seat belts and air condition ducts.

First of all,nice work Pete.
I also had no idea there was any detailed interior to this kit.I just recieved mine yesterday and look forward to the build. The one thing that I can't figure out is the box art.
It's good to know it was used in Iraq,so why on earth did Trumpeter depict it on the box like it's in the middle of a transformers movie ???

Bucause they were used in a scene in the Transformers 3 movie.

It does look good. I may have to get one too.

They look like 1132's in the first picture with the mine-cleared-lane marker dispensers extended.

So who does a 1/35 Transformer for a dio?

You are correct. The one on the right in the pic is an M1132 ESV. The one on the left is an M1129 MCB.

Hey Pete,
I'm working on mine now.Don't know how we missed not knowing about the detailed interior and detailed it is,I'll be on my third night tonight working on it.1 question, what did you use for the hoses? They look so good.
Gino,now I understand the transformer connection.I only have a 10 yr.old daughter,so if a stryker isn't in a Barbie movie I haven't seen it.

Tom,
If your talking about the green NBC hoses, I wraped thin wire around a larger diameter copper wire and bend to shape.

Hey Pete,
Getting close to the finish of my interior.I've assembled full kits in a lot less time. The instructions at times can be very confusing.Trumpeter should for some details add a shot from the left side, not always on the right and also explain that some are built upsidedown.Lining up all the pieces on the rear shell shelf was hell.If not for your photos I came very close at some points to just scrapping the whole thing.Thank you.

Nice work. Very impressive in fact. I may add this Stryker variant into my pile also after seeing your build. Glad to see another retiree working on his stash. I have the Stryker Medvac in my booty box, and built the ICV version. Trumpeter's instructions are wanting for sure, and the number of parts that each kit is broken down into is, well overdone maybe is the word.

Hi Guys,
Finally got through it,not at all to your degree Pete.David, you are so right about their instructions and parts. The interior was hard enough at times, but wait for the upper hull. .The worst being parts being listed with the wrong sprues and numbers.Oh well I'm not going to quit now.

Progress so far.
Many very small parts, surprised I didn't lose any.Again some mislabelling of parts.I have always had trouble with the fit of the windscreen on the drivers hatch. There is a spring part that seems to be on the inside of the screen, but it prevents it from sitting flat and straight.I ended up just removing it because it wouldn't be see in the end.To show as much of the interior I want to keep most hatches open.A lot more masking than usual.
