Tried google and all sorts of searching and came up with nothing. What I would like to find are some pic's of a cobblestone roadway where a rail line crosses it. Time period is early 30's in France. Would the crossing between the tracks be wood or would the cobblestones be layed across the intersection. Here in the U.S. it is usually thick wood spaced inbetween the rails from back then. I have no idea what it would have been in France so any help would be greatly appriciated. I am at a stand still getting my ground work done untill I can figure what I have to do.

Although these pictures were obviously taken before 1930 ( circa 1910 ? ), I guess they may help anyway...

Just found another picture taken in 1927 in Bois-Colombes, in the northwestern suburbs of Paris (just click on it to see the full size version ):

Différents types de passage à niveau à Bois Colombes : [photographie de presse] / Agence Meurisse

You can notice that boom barriers had replaced the earlier sliding gates, but I guess the later could still be found at that time...
