Hello Paul,
Firstly, the Tamiya kit is not a Mk5 as it says on the box, it is a late Mk2.
The very early Chieffies were Deep Bronze Green, in the 70`s the main colour was Green and black.
You could do a BATUS version of Green and Sand.
Ignore the Green on Green scheme suggested in the instructions.
Remember the Tamiya kit has it`s faults, mainly due to age, but looks ok when built out of the box, but needs work to make an accurate model of a Chieftain.
There are quite a few after market updates available for this old kit depending on how your budget is.
I.E. Accurate Armour do some major conversions but are expensive.
CASTOFF MODELS also do a range of updates but are more reasonably priced as they waste less of the dodor kit. and Eduard do a PE set for this kit.
Hope this helps
Regards
Malcolm
