Hey guys,

So I've got the idea I want for my first 1st dio, BUT, like most of my ideas its never as simple lol

What I want is a Iraq bomb moment, I have a EOD robot that will be checking out a vehicle that has the said bomb and this is my problem, I have been unable to find something that would look like a terrorist bomb vehicle, after searching eBay I found a transit van but its in 1/32, so, my question is.... Will it still look right with the scale difference?....

This comes up often. They are close enough in scal ewhere it is not an issue. Check out the following threads for more info and some examples.

1/35 and 1/32 Vehicles 1

1/35 and 1/32 Vehicles 2

1/35 and 1/32 Vehicles 3

The only real hard and fast rule I've seen for mixing 1/32 and 1/35 kits is that you don't want to have two of the same vehicle, one in each scale ('same vehicle' being broadly painted, like a 1/32 Grant and a 1/35 Lee) -- the difference in size will be obnoxiously apparent.

Gino,

Thank you, those links are interesting and have helped.

Sean,

I agree with your rule there, two vehicles that are of the same 'family' would be a mistake, as it stands im unsure if I will have a 1/35 vehicle at all, in my mind I picture the suspect looking vehicle (1/32 van or something along those lines), the EOD robot, EOD controller, some NATO troops that have found the vehicle and now watching guard and toying with the idea of having a insurgent, possibly the dead man I found on eBay lol
In truth I keep changing my mind and probably will till I start it and see it in the flesh lol

Talking about a Ford Transit, you can still found one of those released by Schabak in 1/35th scale They come in various liveries.

Here's a example :

The interior is rather basic but I think it's a good starting point.

That's a nice looking Transit, Frenchy.

I tried accessing virutaltoyshop.com but couldn't.. Is that a working site, or is this an old link?

That's OK, I got it.. but the Schabak line doesn't show any 1/35 cars

Hi Hisham

Here's the direct link to the related page :

You can find an ambulance variant (I'm not sure an ambulance interior is included though..) here :

http://www.emergencydiecast.com/ambulanceger.htm

I've also bought some from eBay...

Thanks for the link, Frenchy. One of those Peugeot 404s in 1/35 would be great for a Lebanese civil war dio!

I wish one of the new manufacturers would pick up on the requests for some civilian cars in 1/35 scale
