SCROLL FURTURE DOWN THIS THREAD FOR NEW PICS!

Slowly but surely moving along on my thingy. One side of the friul tracks are done ( my first try at these and love em) I also got the tank primed and ready to go. The next fun step is camo pattern with an airbrush which Ive never tried..hint, hint. I'll be asking for all the tips I can get on that process.

This is one of the two Fine Molds tanks I have. The other is the Type 95 Ha-Go (FM16). Got some aftermarket goodies for this one like the FM barrel and a set of crewmen. It also includes a photo etch grill.

BTW, did you paint your kit? My Chi-Nu is molded in tan and the Ha-Go is in olive.

For those of you who are interested in these Japanese tank kits, they are of awesome quality. Some kits include clear plastic periscopes. Price is a little steep unless you get them direct from Japan.

So far, so good man. Great detail on that kit, might have to look at it for myself, would you recommend it?

John, looks outstanding so far. Those Friuls really look the part for that tank. It looks big. I wish you had a figure propped next to it to see some scale.
So, you're going to go with a three color camo scheme? The best advice I can offer is to lay you lightest color down first progressing toward the darkest for last.
Are you going to do it free hand? Or are you planning on using masks?

Ken.Im going to freehand it. I figure with a mask my vision will be obscured by the eyeholes #:-)

mine is already on it's way to me from France. I saw it I liked it and I begged the boss for permission to purchase it AFTER I ordered it. (lucky for me she said yes) It has a full interior and I may just do my first figures to go with this one.

I decided to jump right in and do the camo freehand with an my airbrush both of which I've never done. Needless to say I'm going to need to touch up with a brush to bring it all together. Its a 3 color camo and the pictures really dont show it all that well.

I know the pics do not do it justice, but I really like the camo scheme. Perhaps you can take a pic outdoors.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing it weathered up - which should help bring the colors out. Are you going to pick out the details ie. the tools?

Will try the outdoor pics if it ever stops raining here. The tools I normally dont pick out, on this one ,though, I will because they will really stand out and the detail is top shelf!
