May be a weird question...

I've never used any of the pre-colored photo etch sets. So I'm pondering about durability...looking at 0.2 or so, so the real thin ones, bending them, rolling them. Would much of the color chip off? What's your experience?

I've only noted pre-colored etch on stainless steel..like Eduards'? Or am I wrong?

You can CAREFULLY bend them, but too much and it flakes off. For example, Eduard's PE seatbelts. Look great but if you try to bend and twist them to make them more realistic, they will sometimes flake. You also need to be real careful about putting tape over the painted parts

I used Eduards M1025 placards recently, and they can be bent to follow a curve, provided you hold or put pressure on the back of the piece where there is no colour. Even holding the pieces in a tweezer or in my fingers was enough to remove the colouring.

Once coated in a matt varnish they seemed a lot more durable though, so maybe that might help.

Cheers
