Since Live Resin has released their excellent 40mm Mk 47 grenade launcher I am attempting to add cables for the LVS and associated elevation/azimuth sensors. I have seen many good photos from the web,the General Dynamics website, Frenchy, etc, but I have not figured out what end goes where yet. Here is a link
to Frenchy's earlier photo posting...

Does anyone please have a link to the field manual / TM that describes the connections and hook ups? I am working on the tripod mounted version without a night sight (yet). Many thanks for any clues!

Impressive job ! But I'm afraid you'll have a hard time finding the corresponding TM for this weapon online as it is a recently fielded one : I guess the access to the TM will be restricted and reserved for its users

Hello Frenchy! Thank you for the reply. Did not mean to get into anything confidential on the forum. Guess I will make a best effort based on your photos as posted for the cable runs. Many thanks.

Okay. Still a work in process with the four cable runs described above based on photos. Please let me know if anyone can share more on what cable ends go where? Thanks

Last shot of 4 cables glued and before final paint. Sorry about the image quality. Will try to post better photos after it is finished. Thanks for looking.

Wishing you well!

I am thinking of adding a crew of two on a small base perhaps with a third standing behind them. Seems like a Mk47 with the big 60mm motar box feeding from the ground with lots of spent cases around would make for an interesting scene. Say training at the range kind of thing? These Live Resin offerings are so nice that I have stashed a couple of the Mk47s kits already.

Many thanks Yaroslav for both your kind remarks and for providing such excellent offerings! Painting something with this much detail is really fun. Thank you and looking forward to more of your work!

First of all my compliments for your work.
Then I'd really appreciate if you could explain which technique and materials you have used to glue the cables to the gun.
I'm building the same model but I'm getting crazy trying to glue the cables to the various connecting points.

Thank you

Hello Ettore - Thank you for your kind words. Sorry for my delayed reply as I just saw your post. I am happy to share what little I know about the "cables". I have used wire in the photos like what you would find to make necklace and bracelets with beads. The wire is very thin and soft enough to holds its shape. I attached it to the resin model using cyanoacrylate ("Super Glue", "krazy glue", "instant glue). I use the thick gel version. I just dip an end of the wire into a drop of glue and spray a accelerant like "Insta-set" to build up the cable connector end. This larger area on the wire allows it to fit easier on the resin model location. I just experimented until I got what I wanted. Use a toothpick to help place the glue. Use the "helping hands" clips and base to help hold things in place until you can squirt the accelerant on the glue joint. Please share what you learn as you work. Good luck and happy hobby time to you!

These "helping hands" clips are useful to hold the wire glue joints in place.
