Nice concept and well done. Wouldn't the first thing dropped by the POW be his weapon?

Unless the German has picked it up to show to the Yank that the breach is clear and this is why the Yank is saying leave it alone !!!!!!!!!!

Could swap the gun for a forage cap instead if you could find one, as if he has just taken it off his head !

Lovely idea though and nice painting.

Jerry/Nige

Guys thanks for the positive comments.

Nige has got it right. The German has picked up his MP 40 and dropped the magazine which you can just see on the ground. The para is nervously telling him to drop it again.

Cheers

OK,I see but I still have to say as a retired soldier,if the PW had picked up his weapon again I would have dropped him! Better safe than sorry.

I would suggest it may need another coat of flat. The clothes, especially the German's, appear pretty glossy. It could potentially just be the photos.

Jesse

I think it is my camera and lack of photography skills as they look fine in the flesh.

Cheers

Gerry,
Another beauty.
Can I just offer a bit of advice though..
If the German is SS, as according to the helmet, he would be wearing the eagle on the upper left sleeve, not the chest. Also, he has the Totenkopf on the collar denoting he is from the 3rd SS. The 3rd SS weren't in Normandy. They were on the Eastern front at that time in the war. Change the collar patch to the SS runes and move the eagle to the sleeve and it will be spot on!
I'm not trying to be critical here, just trying to help
All the best,
Gary

Gary

Thanks for looking and the constructive criticism .

This is why it is good to have someone else look at your efforts.

I will make the suggested changes

Cheers

Gerry
