Hi all,

I am no expert, so please accept my ignorance on this question. I have gotten a T-34 bug and have gotten a couple kits. I started working on the 1/35 Maquette T-34/85 with Mine Roller recently. I did not like all the flash so I looked online for a turned metal barrel. Found one from a company I personally was not familiar with, Como.

Anyhow, I then was able to get a DML kit of the same tank (wo the roller).

In looking at the barrel parts (it has both the slide mold and turned metal ones), they are very different from the Como one (which in Google searches, I found another turned metal that looks similar).

Please look at my picture and let me know if any/none, whatever is right.

Thanks.

Thanks for these links Nenad.

So the barrel 'lip' is accurate for the late 85 mounted ones? Is the non-lipped barrel accurate at all?

Hi John,

both gun-barrels are accurate, but I would take the "non-lipped". This type will be the best choice for a late production T-34/85.

Nenad,

Thanks again for the reply. So let me see if I am clear or not. I would like to build an end of WWII tank. I had ordered the Aber barrel you recommended. (It is beautiful BTW). So, should I use that or the non-lipped, for that era (or would either work?)?

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

you can use both. Donīt worry about the "lip". If it as an aluminium barrel you can sand it down easily.
