Hi all,

with all the M109 kits announced or being released, I wonder when the M109 A6 PIM will be fielded in the real world. Are the vehicles that we see on the `net just prototypes or are the ready for production and fielding?
Tanks for any input.

Hans-Hermann

The M109A6 PIM is slated to begin low-rate initial production in 2013 and initial fielding is scheduled for 2014. The U.S. Army plans on procuring a fleet of 580 PIM enabled sets of howitzers and ammunition support vehicles.

Gino,
Are you sure that the low rate production timeline is still slated for 2013??? Based on the lack of activity around the "supposed" production site, I would guess that it might have slid to the right a year if not more...

Just my observation, perhaps the PIM hulls will be built in another location than Elgin OK.

You may be right John. Those are the last dates I heard, but they may have changed.
