Hello Everyone.

I want to show you one of my recent builds: a model of Panzerbeobachtungswagen III Ausf. H. Hidden behind this rather long name is tracked artillery observation vehicle on Pz. III Ausf. H basis, that was serving together with mobile artillery vehicles as Hummel or Wespe. I think, that the most interresting point about it was, that it's main armament was a MG installed in a place where you normally would expect a proper gun. To make the vehicle look as if it was a normal Pz. III it had a mockup of 50mm gun attached to the right side of the MG.

The model was built of Dragon's kit with Friulmodel tracks, dedicated Aber set and additionally Tamiya's figures and drums/jerrycans set. Painted with Gunze, weathered with MIG pigments and oils and Vallejo paints. The figures were painted exclusively with Vallejo paints.

Here some pictures of it:

Just a tiny niggling detail, but if the figures are part of an artillery unit, wouldn't they have the red artillery waffenfarbe on their shoulder straps? I can see skipping the collar tags; the stripe down the middle of each bar is really finicky to get, and it's debatable whether it would be visible in scale, although the red is more visible against the metallic background than, say, infantry white.

Hi Sean, thank you for your comment.

Well, you are probably right, as I am absolutely no expert in uniforms, I only knew they were supposed to be green for artillery units.
I used Tamiya's decal sheet with German insignia's for collars and shoulder straps. As far as I remember it does not have any specific kind of details for artillery, and I used the ones for Wehrmacht or Panzertroops (not 100% sure, it was already some time ago).
I will have to live with this mistake (I am also sure, that this is not my only one), as the figures are firmly attached to the ground, and will not move without a fight (as you would expect from German army). Painting this detail with them on the base is rather a mission impossible for me.
