This is a build I completed a couple months ago for a contest. I came in 3rd in the Armor category. It's essentially an OOB build with the adition of only the turned barrel, BMP antenna, and 3mm LEDs for the SHTORA-1 system.
I'm cutting down alot of the pictures since I documented almost EVERY step of the way.
Thanks for looking

Brian- a really fantastic and innovative build- I've only ever seen the Shtora's lit up like that on one other build and it looks awesome all lit up. The paint job and weathering are top notch too and the base is simple and effective, not taking anything away from the main attraction. What were your impressions of the kit?
(Anyone else think that the T-90 turret being held by the helping hand looks like some sort of crazy sci-fi crab beast ?!)

It was an easy kit to build but had an ENORMOUS amount of parts. Not much needed to be cleaned up with minum flash Believe it or not, it was actually only my SECOND kit that I've built ! I did a ton of research and practiced alot on some scrap styrene to get technique down. The plastic was soft and easily trimmed and sanded, yet also dinged pretty easy.
I painted all in Tamiya acylics and weathered with AK Interactive Pigments, Washes and Effects. All in all took about 50 Hours total build time.
I highly recommend this kit.

Excellent build. Care to share how you wired up the Shtora boxes? I love every bit of the painting and weathering but the rust on the fuel drums has me puzzled. I doubt the Russians would let the fuel tanks on an their most expensive MBT rust. Was this purely artistic liberty or is there photo evidence?

Purely artistic liberty. I set the "scene" as if it was heavily used in the wet season if Russia were involved in the Syrian conflict. The gritty earth would make a steel drum rust quick under the right conditions. I don't think I'd ever feel right constructing a shiny tank

Very nice! I too am a bit surprised you weathered it so heavily to kind of knock out the excellent camouflage paint job you did.

Sounds plausible to me.

Light it up! Very original. I occasionally use that method to light barrels. You have me itching to try my hand at one! Are the tracks link and length? That may be my downfall.

Hi Brian,
cool build I have one which is going to be done in a Campaign next year. I´d really like to know, as would Eric to, on how you´ve wired the beast up
