Well - you can practice zimm, take a scarp piece of wood and apply putty and have at it. You can practice AB techniques.
You can work on a base of the little kitty.
This is one reason so many of us have lots of 'kits on the shelf'. We can always grab something else to start.

i agree with scott here.. practice a new technique on some scrap plasticard or wood or even a new kit.

Try making your own barbed wire... i've been at it all afternoon...and after alittle practice, it's looking good. It takes alot of time and is tedious work and the time goes by and by.

good luck...kglack

There is another maker of barrels that I've been meaning to mention. They are certainly worthy of investigating.

Brass Barrels ...not to be confused with Presion Brass Barrels.

For a Tiger, I'd find a higher quality barrel than Barrel Depot. I do have a love affair with Barrel Depot though. They produce mainly modern armor aluminum barrels and seem to be readily available and inexpensive. I doesn't hurt that they make a lot of the US barrels for the tanks I build.

Model Point barrels more closely resemble precision instruments than a part for a model kit. Superb workmanship. The several Eduard barrels I've inspected and own are also nice pieces of work. My T-72 barrel is a mulitmedia kit in itself.

Elefant does decent small barrels, but I notice they stick towards WW2 German and Soviet small stuff. The CMK Hot Barrels I have are real nice with resin mantlets and muzzle brakes.

Tim,

the kit mantlet is good enough, and if you want the breech of the gun, you have to get tankworkshop partial interior for it. To be honest with you, it's not worth the trouble.

Tim,
you could make up and paint the wheels, tracks, and I'll bet there is some other bits
that can be done then you can dive straight into the good bits when your stuff comes
