This is a question from an painting beginner.
I've just completed a M1114 model, painted with Humbrol enamel (sand color).
Now I'd like to add some weathering with AK interactive washes and effects.
I have a basic question:
can I apply AK interactive washes on the Humbrol enamel ?
Thanks

you must seal the your enamel finish with an acrylic topcoat,or else the AK enamel washes will attack the enamel paint

As Anthony said AK will attack the finish. You always want to seal the finish if you aren't going to weather with dissimilar solvent based paints of effects. So no enamel on enamel and so on

You have a couple of choices, Future, Testors Acrylic(Flat or Gloss), or Tamiya(Flat or Gloss). I prefer Future, as if there is a little extra or I apply to much, I can use a cotton swap soaked in cleaner to remove it.

I like Vallejo clear.
Just be careful with Tamiya Flat X-21 as it is not a overcoat, but made to be mixed with their paint

I use Mr. Hobby Flat or Gloss out of a can. They have a specific UV version that won't cause the clear to yellow over time.

You should be fine with acrylic paint alone...I've had issues with the AK products affecting lacquer based solvents (flat coats), so acrylic is your best bet.
