Has any one built this kit or know if it is any good? I've heard it may be a re-box of the older Avenger model is that correct? If not does the kit come with any extras?

thanks,
Mike

No, it is not a rebox of the old Esci/AMT Avenger kit. It is the same old Hummer chassis used by Italeri with a few updates added. The Avenger turret and specific parts are added to the base Italeri Hummer kit. I hear the turret is much better than the old Esci one.

Ditto Sabot - the Turret is an improvement over the old ESCI/AMT version. The basic Hummer still suffers from all the other nit-noids the Italeri kit has been tagged with. I wasn't overly elated when I opened the box - but I wasn't disappointed either. It can be worked into a decent miniature of the Avenger PMS...

I think you'd be able to marry the Avenger parts with an Academy Hummer and get a fairly decent rendering.

I went that route before with success. I also tossed in some Verlinden parts too on a project with a nice result in the end.

Marcel, I'm at work and don't have a book in front of me, but I'd venture to guess that you're referring to the Power Unit for the Avenger PMS itself.

Not a whole heck of a lot Marcel. At one time I was in contact with the manufacturer when I was heavy into building Hummers. I'd have to go home and look in the file cabinet to see what I have left.

I do believe that that part is the Power Unit for the Turret. I was under the impression that later versions of the Turret carry the equipment that you're referring to - but don't quote me on that yet...
