I am impressed by the fine artwork done by several folks on the Tamiya and Italeri Sturmtiger. The ambush pattern is eye appealing that I want to replicate it. Questions:
1. what is the base coat that you use to get the yellow base to stand out?
2. what mix do you use to get that yellow coloration?
If I can get paint brand names it would also assist my efforts.
thanks

I use Floquil Railroad Colors "Mud" for my German dunkelgelb . Exceptionally thin application and dead flat finish. An aribrush is almost a requirement, though, for the base. Brush application can be done for the spots, however.

I use tamiya's xf 59 and xf60 about half and half with quite a bit of white added to it ..
