I've already checked the Perth site, so now I'm asking here, Which Stryker is better, AFV or Trumpeter, Looking at the M1132 ESv w/Mine Plow
Opinions? Experiences?
Does the Trumpeter already have the non-skid surface--hoping not, I got great results w/Rustolium Terracotta on my MGS.
Many thanks advanced.

AFV Club is better than the Trumpeter ones although the newer Trumpeter kits aren't bad. Trumpeter does not have any non-skid, so you are good to go with making your own

I collect model from Trumpeter, I can not say it is bad. But on the geometry of their Striker slightly narrower than they should be in reality. I would choose the AFV.

Another vote for AFV Club. Neither have anti-slip, but personally I think the anti-slip on the Stryker series is so fine that most of it applied by modellers looks out of scale.

I vote for the Trumpeter kit. I have the Trumpy M1132 ESV with mine roller that I'm building and an AFV Club M1126 in my stash. Trumpeter, in my opinion, produces more detail oriented kits than the AFV Club Strykers.

Ok, so far 3 votes for AFV, 1.5 for the Trumpeter
Can I add a second question: Which PE Slat armor: Eduard, Griffon or Voyager?
I found the Terracotta to have a very sutle texture, but I expect it would be a lot easier to apply earlier than I did

I like the AFV ones better. They are much more crisp in detail and just look more refined. I have only used Eduard Slat PE on a couple I have done. It was a real pain in the arse to do. The Voyager set (with rein bars) looks easier and may be a better option.

AFV is better in all aspects. Correct dimensions and details. Trumpeter has totally wrong gear. Regarding the Slat armor, I finished four from Eduard. Today's sales and mounting template to facilitate the construction Slat armor.

Don't forget the Pro Art Model slat armor set. It comes with resin brackets.

I am building the AFV M1132 and have built the Trumpeter M1126, I also have the Trumpeter M1129 mostly for the interior. I would say The AFV kits are more crisp with finer detail and a better dimensions as Milo stated. I just wish AFV would come out with a LavII.
Cheers Rob.
PS The AFV M1132 is on sale at luckymodels.

Rob: I know! But the trumpeter is near the same price.
Oliver: those brackets in resin would make it easier but
why not just go with styrene.
and damm! --gonna cost 3-4x the cost of the kit (even if not on sale) just to fit it out

Even the most recent Trumpeter kit (Mortar Carrier) still has the old style Driver's Vision Enhancer. They don't even give you options for the newer ones (2 types both of which AFV Club have). The Trumpeter pioneer tools are bad, and AFV Club still has the edge on the finer details and fits better.
