Hi guys,
Can anyone recommends any good resin figures for converting into RARduring nam? I mean beside the firestorms, callsign and the hobbyfan.
Thanks
Alex

Apart from the ones you have already mentioned, not really. Unless you want to start with Dragon Vietnam figures, remove all the detail, and re-sculpt the detail on them them to make them Australian.

Hi Alex,
good to see a fellow modeler with the Interest in Australians in Vietnam. I nearly have all the ones you mentiond. Other Figures áre not at the market but with some little conversions you can use a lot of other Figures.
Also Bravo-6 has great Vietnam Figures. If you also want to use Special Forces then they have some SASR Figures. Also the M-113 crew could be use because some Australians use later in the War the US tropical Uniform if they could get their hands on them. You need a british head set with head phones like Ultracast or Hornet have. But you have to change them for use in an M113 or Centurion.I use british and some German WW2 Figures and convert them to Australians for NAM. I use for example the British tank crew from Hornet/Wolf (three half ones) as crew for centurion and M-113 by adding new shirt pockets with magic sculpt and there you have a nice tank crew. Also i cut the ww2 head phones and change them with the plastic ones from the old Dragon Vietnam Cav. Figure set. They are seperate in that set and fit perfectly. Also some of the Royal Model US Sailor ones are useful because their upper bodies have already the right shape of pockets. Again good use as crew because there is no webbing. Have a closer look at the Uniforms worn by RAR in Vietnam and than look around the Figure market which ones could usuable and don´t first look at their nationalty. Here is a link from a great modeller who uses a Dragon German WW2 Paratrooper set for converting them to RAR ones Diorama-Nam
Hope it helps
Greetings

Hi guys,
Thanks for the heads up. Stefan, I was lookng for the diorama on the RAR as I remember seeing it many years ago, but could not find them. Thanks for showing it to me.
