During the Korean War, did crews remove the complex gun aiming system normally installed and replace it with basic ring sights like on Naval twin 40's? Most of the pictures I've seen show only the exterior

Mike,
They had both computing sights and spider sights as backup. Since they were primarily used in the ground support role, they used the spider sights far more often.
