Here is something I've been working on, Burnt Abrams for my HET truck and trailer. I still need to add in burnt and melted gear followed by some weathering. I also plan on grounding down the track pads so that they look as the rubber burned off.

As for my reference I found 11 photos that I went by. I was being loaded onto the trailer by two cranes. I mixed up Tamiyas paints and used rubber cement to block in paints. The blast panels and some of the side skirts will be chained on top of the hull later on.

Very good effect, however, I just would find it very hard to do that to one of my kits. I think you captured the burned and destroyed look very good though!

Brings a tear to the eye, seeing a US tank burned out. Did you grind down the rubber on the road wheels? This build has inspired me. I always wanted to create a burned out tank, but thought I would have to spend months on showing what was left of the interior. I think you have captured the effect quite well and look forward to seeing how you destroy the tracks.

Thanks guys! Yes I did grind off the rubber from the road wheels. I left on enough to show some burnt effect to them. As to the story of the real Abrams reference photos I can only assume that it hit some sort of IED. Though burned the left side has little damage.

This is what I kind of went by...

excellent work Joe! The rubber cement looks like it worked good, leaving that peeled appearance.

Looking forward to seeing this one in person!
