Hello guys!

I would like to share my progress on the Trumpeter BRDM-2. The kit builds very easily. Nice detailed suspension and what I like most is the interior. You can call it basic, but it leaves plenty of room to add extra details. Only downside: if you wish to close the hatches - nothing is seen at all. This is also the case for the turret gun breech. Choice is yours First some sprue photos:

Very nice and crisp lower hull:

Upper hull:

Interior parts:

Clear parts are excellent!

Some PE:

Wheels:

Build sofar:
I replaced the KPVT with a RB model offering. I had some difficulties to place the AM barrel. I'm not sure about the dimensions of the RB offering. It is a bit longer than the kit barrel. The PKT and the PE shield comes from a voyager set. I made the gun (protector?) shield from brass sheet to replace the kit part, which is to thich and bulky. It took me 2 hours to made this little *#) part..

Interior:

Exterior:

What I have done sofar is not that exiting. Maybe the BRDM-2 is also a bit boring. Not much fancy pancy to show..

I'm not sure yet what paint scheme I will do. Do you guys have some cool camouflage suggestions?

Cheers,
Jurjen

Nice and clean build Jurjen. The interior is good enough for what you can see when the hull is glued. I guess that through the hatches and windshield you can't see too much of it.
Does the turret comes with the interior parts too (for instance the gunner seat)?

Hi guys,

thanks, today I will continue adding some small details like weld seams etc.

Olivier: The turret interior is pretty good!I haven't used all the parts simply because you can't see it. The gunners seat is included.

I will keep you updated!

Hi,
today I have been working on the weldseams. Trumpeter didn't add any so it was time to use my old rusty 'weldseam creator'. It is a cheap soldering iron with a small needle attached using copperwire. Make sure you use a soldering iron where you can regulate the tempature

Hi guys,

A small update on the BRDM-2. I have been working on all the small left overs like weld lines, headlights, hinges and handles. Some weldlines do look to rough, but in real they look oke (to me ). I see I need to clean the headlight cover, lol. Next is paint!
