Tamiya kit modified with a Faxon conversion, WWII Productions winterketten tracks, Evolution and Gasoline figures. Tamiya KVII turret. Its part of the Stug Campaign but I thought I'd throw it around here too
I'm trying to get out of a model funk right now

Great looking project Greg!the stug looks very nice and the kv in the water is a nice touch, looks like you're doing water and snow effect at the same time, way cool!look forward to how you approach it as I've done very little of either.
i hope your funk goes man!Lord knows i've been there too!sometimes i just make myself build and find my drive kick in and wham its back.
I like your creativity![and talent!]
Your fellow dioramaist.

Ugh, who doesn't love the StuG?
Will be interesting to see this completed (considering the scale); I love the KV in the water as well.

You wouldn't believe it's 1/48 either!
I can't wait to see it finished as it's proudly on my StuG Campaign thread too!

I love the tracks on that Stug. Really gives it a bit more fear factor. And wow, I agree with Jeff, it's hard to believe just how small that really is.

I'm feeling the mojo again Here's another update, started building up layers. I meant to take the pic next to a 1/35 Italeri opel as this dio is almost 8 inches across for size comparison.

Is 48th really that much smaller? I've never worked on 48th armor so I don't really have a clue and I'm not good at guessing on size.

I'd say most tanks are around the size of a 12oz coke can.
Here's a good side by side

Hi Brent, Thanks!
Here I used a bunch of wood glue to fill the pond and it's taking a week to dry out in the cold shed (experiment on the whim). I still need to fix the mud/snow on land after that then will start painting up. I'm going to use the Vallejo Still Water darkened up, ice effects after that on the water's edge and icicles on the bridge.

Here's my snail pace progress, but every little bit counts, right? Just some pre-base colors. Next, paint the water and bridge some more and pour some Vallejo Still water in there. Then, will be some glue, snow coat, and churned up snow and mud. Last, will be icicles and a little ice on waters edges.

I may have gone a little too heavy mixing the Vallejo paint with the Still water, but drying time will tell.... I almost forgot to remove the tape protecting the KV2 turret when I began pouring but caught that It should be fun rusting up that KV2 turret a bit. Still to paint bridge, snow coat & chunky snow/mud, icicles on bridge, tree stumps....
