Hello,

I thought I would share a project that has been on my workbench for quite some time. The inspiration for this SF Humvee can be seen about halfway down the following page:
http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?114762-United-States-SOF-pics/page64

I still have a couple items to add to finish it out, and I haven't decided how to kit out the bed yet, since the original photos don't give the right angle. I'm open to suggestions.

I have a Live Resin M240 on a swing arm ready to mount in the back. I hope to finish off the turret with a Live Resin minigun when they are released.

(The dark brown/orange sections in the back are sheet styrene sprayed with stucco paint to give it texture.

Enjoy!

Really nice work!I also have an M1114 for a similar purpose but I haven't much info about the cargo area to depict it correctly.
Really nice work however.

Lots of stowage, ammo cans, watter bottles/boxes etc....just fill it up and make it look "used".

Looks great so far!

I finally finished my attempt at a Special Forces Humvee Gun Truck. As I noted above, the inspiration for this model was an actual Humvee photgraphed in Iraq circa 2007.

Very nicely done!
What to put in the back? How about a bottle jack? The heavier gun trucks would have a tendency to bend the bumper jacks. Maybe a Carl Gustav and some spare rounds. Anything but boxes of Coca Cola and Mountain Dew. That's not how we roll. Pro Art also makes some nice resin cardboard boxes. Lots of times stuff just gets thrown together in those. For ammo cans, a nice touch is to put "direction of feed" arrows on them. We had one gun truck that needed oil added to the diesel fuel. Maybe some oil cans and a funnel as well.

Robert,
Thanks for the compliment and for the suggestions. Also, thanks for your service. The compliment means a lot coming from you! I used the Humvee Gun Truck CD you put out a few years back to fill some of the "data gaps" for my model.

Does anyone make a 1/35 Carl Gustav?

Thanks again,
Brian

One of the best Humvee models I've ever seen. Very interesting, not often seen version. And beautifully done. Congratulations

Have You got any original's photos with a view from behind? I mean did You build the dark brown/orange sections in the back based on reference photos or was it Your imagination? And why double seats in the back?

Brian,
I'm glad the SOF HMMWV CD was of help to you. Now that you know where to get the Carl, you can get spare round containers from Legend's Pink Panther upgrade.

Thanks guys. Kuba - I don't have any pics of the actual "Liger" vehicle armor from behind, but I made an educated guess based on the photos I took at an military open house of a Ranger Humvee see below. You can see the basis for the details in these photos. I've also seen this type of armor package on other up-armored SF Humvees on the web. The idea for the double seats in the back came from a Humvee guntruck used by the SF team featured in a National Geographic documentary "Inside the Green Berets" - http://natgeotv.com/asia/inside-the-green-berets/about
