Rob
Thanks for that, an update for me and a learning lesson,

, geez new guy!! The tracks I could not get to lay straight so I had to pin them. they are primerd with Krylon Black. I intende to use my Vallejo Mpodel Air, Gun Metal with a touch of rust. And they are Absoultley Horrible, the F~!@#$% up my airbrush and were all gummy and stuff, and I shook them for about 5 min each before putting in the paint cup. Man I thought that stuff was supposed to be good. Anyway after about an hour of maintnace on the AB, I used Modelmaster Titanium and Jet Exhaust ont the tracks and came out niceley, hard to tell in the pics and looks shiny but it really isint.
And second work and New guy mistake is Primer the Model before thinking your red oxide primer, paint mixture is the actual primer and doesnt stick to the model because it isint primerd. Arrgh but anyway I was happy with te color it is like a dark Brick red with a touch of grey, I the pictures it looks like a lobster, but ti really isint I wish I knew how to get a good phot with my little camera. but anyway that is where I am at.

Hi people!
Nice Panther Eugene! Try to use Vallejo's Panzer Aces Track Primer. The collor is very good. After this, a little metalic dry.
I just started my BMP.
So far, so good. The kit is very easy to build. The only thing I added was some plastic strip to hide the chanes in upper hull and back armor. See.

Cheers!

Hi Marco, nice start on your BMP there
Hi Eugene, cool looking Panther it's a shame about the tracks.
I love the base for your dio

, that sure is the first time I've seen coffee beans used like that. Cool and original

I'm back on track with my Trumpy BMP. I grinded through the tracks...even left the guide teeth off part of the top run sections. They won't be seen and it's my way of shaking my fist in defiance to Trumpy.
Marco,
Those antenna pieces look great, much better than what the kit includes. I'm goign to stick with the mounts but snip off the kit antennae. Question though...what's the lengths of the aftermarket antenna pieces?

Hi Alex!
Now I do not know, because I'm in the office. Tonight I can measure them.
They look great, but the packaging is a piece of crap. The antennas are warped and I have not figured out a way to straighten them safe.
I do not know if the RB participates in the forums or if there is someone who knows those guys. If so, please ask them to improve packaging to preserve the great items that they produce.
Cheers!

Update.
Tracks. Not a lot to show. Add guide tooth. I tried a few tricks to try to make it go easier. None really worked. I found that doing 10-20 links a sitting helped. The drive sprocket having the guard molded on actually gets in the way when trying to fit the tracks in there.
Yay paint time. You can see where I left off the top run guide teeth. The tracks are actually in the next room drying. Humidity is terrible so I'm giving them a lot of time to dry through.
Worked on the turret. The antenna are horrible and will be replaced. The mount for the commander's spotlight was mis-molded. I'm going to try to work with what I have, but I also have a similar mount in the spares that might work.
Time for some protection. ERA blocks. And backsides for the mounts.
And the turret armor added.
That's where I'm at right now. I'll probably hang the track tonight or tomorrow. That should put me in the home-stretch for wrapping up assembly.

Thanks Marco.
If only I was that fast a builder. Those pictures represent about two weeks worth of work, most of which was gobbled up with those tracks. So it just looks fast.

Hi people, finally got to do some more work.
Paul, thanks a lot. I didn't use a sock for the sandbags, (although i had washed them, i couldn't get it right)!
Eugene, that's some darn nice work with your Panther! Really good work on the zimm.
Alex, cool work on the BMP and fast too!
As for my project, i managed to make sandbags with some miliput, now time to rust the spare tracks and paint the sandbags, plus weathering the whole thing.

My work.

Hi people!
@John: Nice italian jubject man. Nice build.
@Alex: The antennas are 6cm after mounted in place. BTW, I pretend to use my acupuncture needles because the RB ones aren't good.
My work isn't stoped. New pics ASAP.
Cheers!

Thank you Marco.
I'll probably use stretched sprue. I'm going to try lengths of guitar string or maybe some stiff wire. I think the guitar string will work with that short a length.
I should wrap up assembly tonight or by tomorrow night. I'll probably start paint next week.

Marco thanks a lot, Italian subjects are among my favorite, they may have not been the best tank designs out there as the war progressed, but that does not mean that they were not good at the time they were originally built. That said, they look really good as modelling subjects.
Any pics of your BMP? Very interesting subject for me as i had the misfortune of serving on a tank battalion that used BMP 1s....

Hi John!
I like Italian armor too, but the modern ones
I have an Ariete and a Centauro done and a Puma in my stash.
Pics of BMP problaby next weekend. I like these vehicles, and it's a shame that Trumpeter doesn't made its BMP-1 w/ interior.
Cheers!

Marco, stick at it dude the only nightmare are the tracks.
Alex, you've mastered those tracks beautifully.
John, looks good my friend, I still would of added the sock method. Even an unwashed one, but certainly not one that has
been stuck in an army boot for a day

.
cheers all

A quick update.
It's starting to come together. At this point I'm bring the subassemblies together and adding the small pieces that I would knock off during assembly.

I went ahead and prepainted the ERA armor. I wanted to get an idea of what the kit would look like green. I'm probably going overall green. The side ERA went on like a champ.

And now she's ready for paint.

Here are my start up photos of a Pz IV Ausf H with two addon protection. Zimmerit for keeping magnetic mines off and spaced armor to denotate the shells before impact on the main tank.
Tom

There is some impressive work already done, I hope I can measure up to the others.
