There was a company that made some excellent resin figures i think the name was M81 or Model 81 I am not sure if anyone has an idea it would be most helpful.. thank you.

Do you mean Think 180 Studios? They made some really nice white metal (later in resin) modern SF and regular Soldiers in Iraq and A'stan. Unfortunately, they went out of business a few years ago. They can still be found on eBay from time to time.
