Hi all!
here is my first work in progress here in this nice forum.
The house is made of wood covered with plaster, now I need to paint the internal fittings, the house itself inside & out, add rubble and glue all togheter....

Please take a look at the pictures and feel free to add your comment or suggestion!

Cheers
Alessandro

Great build! I didn't realize that the Hotchkiss was deployed to Slovenia. The roof looks like it was a real headache. My only suggestion would be to add more chairs on the first floor.

Hi all
thank you for your kind words.
Yes this is the Italian Fiat-Ansaldo light tank L6/40 in german hands, it is the Model Victoria resin kit, a very nice and simple model.
Yes I will add more chairs on the ground floor and on the first floor, though plastic chairs is not so easy to find, I have the nice one of the old Tamiya box from the german soldiers at rest, I will probably duplicate it with plastic strips!
Cheers!

Hi Alessandro,

The building looks very good, well done!

The only thing i do not like really are the window frames, they look a bit to big, at least the cross bar. I would always advice to work with plastic strips to make the windows. You can work finer and it looks cleaner.

Good work otherwise

Welcome to the board

Hi Claude
thank you for your comment, yes I agree with you the cross bar of the windows are a little too big, i think I can replace with plastic strips. The windows on the ground floor are actually made of plastic strips, as you suggest.
I would like to ask a question:

How can I replicate the corrugated metal dampers on those big windows on the ground floor? I was thinking on pressing a thin metal sheet over something.....

I was lucky to find several pictures of this particular house, before, during and after the battle, so I decided to build it!
Cheers
Alessandro

Hi Claude
here is a picture, those are metal corrugated dampers, though they are very thin!

Thank you in advance

Lead foil would probably be best to use here.

Any other foil will of course work also, just find the thickness with the besrt compromise between scale and workability

ah, the italian school.... ;-)))

really nice, I like very much the building and the research beneath this dio...also the men have a mood that's quite realistic.

about the metal dampers, may I suggest the corrugated paper that enclose biscuits and/or rusks? here we are so far from home that a little spot will not be an offense to anyone, I hope: try "ringo"....and let we know. at least you'll have a sweet break!

may I ask what reference are the baggages on the last floor? they seems very nice!

and, hem... you are aware that there is a really big feline behind the building? it can be seen in the 6th picutre... maybe a saber-toothed tiger? :-)))

Hi Paolo
Yes the research is nearly 70% of the work in this diorama :-)

Here is a link, with the whole story:

http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=96170

Felines? huh! yes there are some eight beautiful Norvegian Forest Cats going around the desktop when I work, they are really curious...... it's my girlfriend hobby, you can find them here:

www.wlefusa.it

Luggages come from a Plus Model set and from a Nemrod set, I found them recently at "The Sockelshop" in Germany, so they are available.

Thank you for your comments!
Cheers

Hi Alessandro,
To make corrugated iron I glued some toothpick to a piece of cardboard and then pessed down on it some foil (actually I used mustard tube foli ). I think that by varying the thickness and the pacing of the toothpick you could obtain any corrugated surface you need...
Ciao
Edo

P.s. Great job on the dio anyway!
